The Hartford-based startup is dedicated to helping women return to the workforce, contributing to economic growth and job development in Connecticut, and providing mentorship.
The event provided an opportunity for women contemplating their return-to-work strategy to celebrate the success of Untapped Potential and network with like-minded peers and industry mentors.
At the celebratory event, Untapped Potential Founder and President Candace Freedenberg spoke about the importance of building a “community of support” from business people and discussed Untapped Potential’s hybrid business model, which focuses on peers, mentors, and coaches.
She also shared success stories and presented Untapped Potential Avatar Awards to candidates, alumni and mentors:
- Kelly Cloud, Motorlease Corporation, received the Candidate of “The Dale Carnegie Course – Skills for Success” (Dale Carnegie Hartford)
- Ankeny Minoux, Springboard, received the Alumni of Annual Household Membership at Quadjobs good for infinite helping hands
- Stephanie Simmons, The Marriott Hartford Downtown, received the Mentor of a Professional Headshot from Hotshots by Christine Petit
In addition, Katie Lucca, Wear Safe Labs, received a collection box and a “Know Yourself” coffee mug and Heather Clark, ATS Worldwide, received a collection box and a “Follow Your Dreams” coffee mug.

Susan Rietano Davey, Employment Consultant and Coach at Flexible Resources, Inc. shared interview tips.
And professional coach Kelley Biskupiak spoke about the importance of confidence before leading the attendees through a group exercise focused on helping express your best skills.
