JANUARY IS NATIONAL MENTORING MONTH
National Mentoring Month focuses widespread attention on the need for mentors, as well as how each of us—individuals, businesses, government agencies, schools, faith communities, and nonprofits—can work together to increase the number of mentors to assure positive outcomes for our young people. In observance of the holiday, please join us in celebrating just a few of the many reSET mentors who are making a difference in the scale and growth of entrepreneurs and startups throughout Connecticut.
President, Nerac, Inc.
“I recently engaged with reSET at the urgings of Eric Knight and Dave Menard, and I was really impressed with the quality of programs and entrepreneurial talent. I joined Dave to judge a reSET Flight Night and found myself drawn into quality conversations about challenges in venture development and shared interests in moving the needle. It’s great to participate in an expanding collaborative environment, supporting entrepreneurs,” says Kevin.
“As President of Nerac, a research and advisory firm for companies developing innovative products and technologies, I’m always looking for ways to support startups and the local ecosystem. I look forward to continuing to be a part of reSET and to helping entrepreneurs and startups grow in Connecticut.”
President & Managing Partner, Farrell & Farrell Consulting Services, Inc.
Judy is inspired by the entrepreneurs she meets at reSET and loves being around like-minded people who want to use their creativity to solve problems. Through reSET, she’s had a chance to help entrepreneurs examine revenue models, plan and monitor cash flow, and build a set of practices for managing their business. Judy’s goal in mentoring entrepreneurs is to help instill as much planning and forethought into operations as is put into sales. Judy’s firm works with a wide-variety of small organizations to help them achieve their impact goals. As a reSET mentor, she’s had a chance to assist entrepreneurs working in education, health/fitness, consumer products, and other fields.
Partner, Murtha Cullina, LLP
Dave has been working with entrepreneurs and technology businesses his entire career, from the earliest of startups to late stage companies that have sold or gone public. He and his firm have dedicated a significant amount of time and resources to assist the region’s startup community. From January to June, at both reSET and in New Haven, Dave hosts a monthly business lunch series during which he and invited experts deliver free seminars that address issues facing entrepreneurs of all stripes. Two mornings a month, Dave also holds free office hours at reSET. Murtha Cullina is an ongoing sponsor of reSET’s pitch night events, which give entrepreneurs a chance to get presentation experience as well as feedback on their business models.
